Team U.K. consists of
Peter and Ann Hunt 1962 Austin Healey 3000 Mk II XRU 100
Julian Bowen and Lawrence McDowall 1959 Austin Healey 100-6 DSJ 893
Clive Randall and Pam Lindh 1948 Healey Westland
Cars were taken to Liverpool docks for their trip by container
June 6th, 7th Preparation to leave
General panic in the Hunt household. Work seriously interfering with packing. Getting suddenly excited. Intend to leave all purchasing of new items until arrival in U.S.A. Cars have been dispatched to Liverpool for their journey by container to Baltimore where they are being collected by David Stonely.
Horse problems occur at all the wrong times. To-day one mare with laminitis. Stallion turned out on the hill with other three mares and foals. He thinks he's in clover until the ladies put him firmly in his place.
What have we forgotten? At least we are not leaving civilization behind this time as we did in the Round the World Rally. Time of departure is Sunday morning early. We will be there soon.
June 8th - Gathering of the clans
The U.K. contingent have all arrived safely at Easterton Farm. Champagne bottle cork popped and the impending trip duly toasted.
